Community: Megha Kapoor

Megha Kapoor with her editor's eye has directed and created the poetic imagery of ITI. Megha was a delightful sounding board, and we shared so many stories, joy and laughter.

Having worked across global fashion and beauty, how do you see authenticity and cultural identity shaping the future of beauty?

"What has become increasingly clear to me is that authenticity is not something that can be manufactured. It is something that is lived. Consumers today are extraordinarily perceptive; they can feel the difference between a story that is borrowed and one that is truly embodied.

The future of beauty will belong to brands that understand culture not as surface inspiration, but as custodianship. Brands that have a responsibility to the knowledge, rituals and landscapes from which their ideas emerge.

Working alongside Anita Lal on ITI was a masterclass in that philosophy. Anita is the epitome of authenticity in every sense - her approach to design, beauty and living is deeply rooted in cultural stewardship. She demonstrates that when a brand is grounded in something genuine, be it, in heritage, respect for nature, craft and people - well that’s where the magic happens.

When those elements are honoured thoughtfully, beauty moves beyond the transactional and surface and becomes something deeper - this is ITI."
